Highways
The Dominican republic is a Middle-Income Developing country. In the last 10 years the governments has Constructed and renovated many new highways connecting the Interior of the nation to the Capital Santo Domingo. Bridges like the Mauricio Báez. tunnels in Santo Domingo, and numerous overpath/viaducts have been constructed throughout the nation to increase the quality of the nations transportation infrastructure. The Nation currently has five classified nationals highways. DR-1, DR-2, DR-3 being the most important connecting the country to the Northwest, west, and east.
Routes
Like any developing nation, the Dominican Republic suffers from a lack of good paved routes to connect smaller towns and less populated areas. Some of them are in bad condition or are completely unpaved. Major town routes however are in good condition.
