The United States Air Force's 366th Air Expeditionary Wing is a unit possibly located at Shaikh Isa Air Base, Bahrain. They deployed in support of Operations Southern Watch and Desert Thunder.

Mission

The 366th AEW is the same unit as the 366th Fighter Wing based out of Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho. It is known as the 366th Air Expeditionary Wing when it is deployed.

History

The 366th deployed to Sheikh Isa AB as an Air Expeditionary Wing in 1997 and 1998, supporting Operations Southern Watch and Desert Thunder. As one of the first Air Expeditionary Wings to deploy, these two deployments helped prove the usefulness of the Air Expeditionary Force concept.
