Mountain Home High School is a public secondary school in Mountain Home, Arkansas, located in Baxter County. Mountain Home High School is located at 500 Bomber Blvd. There are 875 students in grades 10, 11, and 12. Mrs. Dana Brown is the high school principal. Assistant principals are Mr. Ron Czanstkowski and Mr. George Sitkowski. The faculty is 63 certified teachers and 14 paraprofessionals. Mountain Home High School has received charter school status, granted by the Arkansas State Board of Education. Mountain Home High School is divided into three career academies: Communications, Arts, and Business (CAB), Architecture, Construction, Manufacturing, and Engineering (ACME) and Health and Human Services (HHS).
The institution was awarded an American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) Recycling Award. During the 2004-05 school year, Mountain Home High School students collected more than 6 tons of paper for recycling, and created a model program to promote natural resource conservation.
The Mountain Home High School Band marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, 2006. The Mountain Home High School Bomber golf team won back to back state championships in 2006 and 2007.[citation needed] Mtn. Home is widely considered one of the best schools in the state of Arkansas, and is credited for helping to pioneer the career academies movement in public schools.
Mountain Home High School, more accurately named Mountain Home High Career Academy, received high honors as being the recipient of the Ford Fund for its efforts in career academies and complete integration of all three core career academies. The school is one of the Nations top career academy schools. The ACME and HHS academies were given a national award of distinction for their efforts and many schools from around the nation look to Mountain Home as a premier academy school.
