Marc Bolan , which appears on T. Rex's 1972 album "The Slider ". Cover versions of this song have been performed byGuns N' Roses on their 1993 album ""The Spaghetti Incident?" " (where its title is misspelt "Buick Makane"),The Melvins heavily distorted stoner/sludge metal single "Buick Mackane", and more recently by Danzig on the 2007 album "The Lost Tracks of Danzig " (where it is again misspelt, both as "Buick McKane" and "Buick McKain").Buick MacKane is also the name of a band that was one of Alejandro Escovedo's side projects. They released the album "The Pawn Shop Years" in 1997. Personnel for the Band was Joe Eddy Hines (guitar), David Fairchild (bass and vocals), Glenn Benavides (drums) and Alejandro Escovedo (vocals and guitars). The name of the band is undoubtedly a nod to the influence of the 70's on Escovedo's musical tastes and reflects an edgier, harder rocking sound than any of his solo releases.
