Museum of the American Railroad

The Museum of the American Railroad, formerly known as the Age of Steam Railroad Museum, is located at 1105 Washington Street in Fair Park, Dallas, Texas. The museum has a large collection of steam, diesel and passenger railroad equipment. The museum is noted for allowing guests to walk through some of the equipment.

The museum will soon relocate to Frisco, Texas.[1]

Plans for the future

A new strategic plan, called Visions 2006, was developed that calls for a comprehensive reorganization of the museum, including new facilities, new governance, and new programs. Visions 2006 can be viewed on the museum website. In 2008, the museum entered an agreement to move to a new location in the city of Frisco, Texas, that would better meet the strategic plan than the current 1.8-acre (7,300 m2) Fair Park site.[2][1]
