Route description
The northern terminus of SR-205 is located at its northern intersection with U.S. Highway 431 in southern Guntersville. From this point, the route travels in a southeasterly direction in route to Albertville. From central Albertville, it travels in a more south-southeasterly direction in route to its southern terminus with U.S. Highway 431 in southern Boaz. SR-205 is routed along the roadway formerly designated at US-241. During the 1940s, US-241 was relocated to the current routing of US-431 and US-241 was changed to US-431 in 1953. In 2006, the portion of Highway 205 in Etowah County is called The Jack Toney Memorial Highway
