Nicos Anastasiades (Greek: Νίκος Αναστασιάδης; born 27 September 1946) is a Cypriot politician who is the political leader of the centre-right political party DISY (the Democratic Rally). In parliamentary elections on May 22, 2011, the Democratic Rally won 20 seats, which was more than any other party but not a majority of the 56-member House of Representatives.

Anastasiades was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1981 and has been leader of his party since 8 June 1997.

He is a lawyer by profession and he is the founder of the law firm of Nicos Chr. Anastasiades & Partners.[1][non-primary source needed] He graduated in law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and completed postgraduate studies in shipping law at University College London (University of London). He is a traditional supporter of ending militarty conscription in Cyprus.
