Durham Regional Highway 2, locally known as Kingston Road, was the first controlled access route in Ontario.Fact|date=September 2007 It starts in Toronto, where it is known as Kingston Road, and continues east through Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa and Clarington after which the respective municipalities have given this road a number of differing names.
This road is mainly a typical suburban thoroughfare in most parts except through the old city centers of some of the municipalities.
