Aguadulce is an agricultural city in the Coclé province in Panama. It is the capital of a district in the province of the same name, it is located on the Pan-American Highway, near but not on the coast on the Bahia de Parita.

References and agriculture

Most of the land near Aguadulce is dedicated to agricultural use, much of it to the cultivation of the Sugar cane. The name of the town translates literally as "sweet water", though the phrase also means "fresh water" (as opposed to salt water), it seems more likely a reference to a source of fresh water than the sugar cane cultivation fields, several salt producing companies have their factories in the town as well.

The famous car manufacturer, Toyota wants to build a car factory in the lands near the town. It is slated to start November 3, 2007.

Aguadulce is the birthplace of major Panamanian league baseball players Carlos Lee, Davis Romero and also the already retired Juan Berenguer.
