Nader Engheta (Born 1955 in Tehran) is an Iranian scientist and engineer. He has significantly contributed to novel artificial materials, photonics, nano-structured materials, novel graphene materials, and plasmonics. [1][2]

He received his B.S. degree with high honors in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering (Fanni) at University of Tehran in 1978, and his Ph.D. degree from Caltech in 1982. He is currently the H. Nedwill Ramsey Professor of Electrical and Systems Engineering at University of Pennsylvania.

He received the Guggenheim Fellowship in 1999 for his work on "Fractional paradigm of classical electrodynamics." The Scientific American selected Nader Engheta as one of the top 50 leaders in Science and Technology for the year 2005-2006.

He is also on the editorial board of the peer reviewed journal Metamaterials, along with a number of other notable board members who have significantly contributed to metamaterial research.[3]
