Fielding Lewis inFredericksburg, Virginia . Fielding was married toBetty Washington Lewis , the sister ofGeorge Washington . The house was built in the 1770s on a convert|1300|acre|km2|sing=on plantation. The property was purchased by theGordon family in 1819. They named it "Kenmore" for the home of their ancestors inScotland .The house is notable for the remarkable decorative plaster work on the ceilings of many rooms on the first floor.
It was declared a
