Grove Christmas Tree

Grove Christmas Tree

The Grove Christmas Tree is a 110-foot Christmas tree that is lit every year at The Grove at Farmer's Market in Los Angeles, California. It is the tallest Christmas tree in the city of Los Angeles.

The annual Christmas tree lighting takes place in mid-November and has become a Southern California tradition since it was first held in 2002, the year the Grove at Farmer's Market opened. The ceremony features performances by top-name recording artists, many of whom perform Christmas carols. The tree lighting is capped off by a snowfall and fireworks. The tree lighting marks the kickoff of the Los Angeles chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation's annual "Season of Wishes" campaign.

Just as NBC televises the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting in New York City, the Grove Christmas Tree lighting is telecast live every year on KCBS-TV in the Los Angeles area--an appropriate choice due to the Grove's location near CBS Television City--and syndicated to hundreds of television stations across the country, including many CBS affiliates, which includes most of the network's owned-and-operated stations as well as some of the CBS-owned CW affiliates.
