- Allington Quarry Waste Management Facility
The Allington Quarry Waste Management Facility is an integrated
waste management park inMaidstone, Kent England . It is also the site of the Allington Incinerator. Theincinerator is owned byWaste Recycling Group as Kent Enviropower. The facility is able to process 500,000 tonnes per annum ofwaste and has the ability to produce 40MW of power. The incinerator employsfluidised bed incineration technology. During test period by the manufacturers, before final handing over in July 2007, a severe design fault closed down the incinerator and the three burners needed rebuilding, closing the facility down for another year.ee also
