Sevenoaks is a local government district covering the western most part of
Kent inEngland . Its council is based in the town ofSevenoaks . It was formed on1 April 1974 , under theLocal Government Act 1972 , by a merger of theSevenoaks Urban District withSevenoaks Rural District and part ofDartford Rural District .The Council
The Council consists of 54 elected councillors, representing wards in the District.
