Lee Richard McEvilly (born 15 April 1982 in Liverpool) is a footballer who currently plays for Cambridge United in the Conference National.

McEvilly plays as a striker and started his career at Burscough in 2000. The next year he would earn a transfer to Rochdale A.F.C. for a fee of £20,000. He stayed at Rochdale for 3 years, scoring 27 goals in 95 appearances (63 starts). While at Rochdale he earned an international cap for Northern Ireland.

After a spell on loan at Accrington Stanley midway through the 2003-2004 season, he made a permanent move in the summer of 2004 by joining the then Football Conference team on a free transfer. He spent a year there and score 17 goals in 41 appearances (38 starts). In the summer of 2005 McEvilly joined Wrexham on another free transfer. He has scored 8 goals in 25 appearances (16 starts) for the Red Dragons. However, during 2005-2006 he was plagued by foot injuries. In December 2005, he suffered a stress fracture of his metatarsal.

After making a comeback in the spring of 2006 he was to fracture the bone again. Prior to the 2006-2007 season he looked to be on the road to recovery, however he fractured the bone again and was out of action until November 2006. He made his comeback as a substitute in Wrexham's 2-1 League Two victory over Lincoln City on 25 November 2006. So far this season McEvilly has scored 5 goals for Wrexham, including the only goal in Wrexham's 3-1 FA Cup 3rd round defeat at Derby County on January 6 2007, as well as earning himself a brace in a vital 2-1 victory over Barnet on March 3 2007.

McEvilly left Wrexham in June 2007 by mutual consent, and returned to Accrington shortly afterwards. However he found his chances limited and on 21 November he returned to his former club Rochdale on loan. After being sent back to Accrington Stanley, despite scoring numerous goals including the only goal in a 1-0 win over ex-club Wrexham, McEvilly joined Cambridge United on loan. Against Woking on the 15 March, he suffered a ruptured ankle ligament and a small fracture of his fibula.

In the 2007-2008 season, he had 13 starts for Cambridge and scored five goals, two of them being vital ones in Cambridge's comeback away at Burton Albion where they came back from two goals behind to draw 2-2. McEvilly came on in the 73rd minutes and within five minutes he slotted in a penalty, he then scored a second in the 84th minute from a 20 yard free-kick. On 18 June 2008, McEvilly signed a two-year deal with Cambridge United, arriving on a free transfer.
