They won theCalder Cup in 1938, 1940, 1949, and 1956. The team was renamedRhode Island Reds in 1976. The Reds played at theRhode Island Auditorium , located on North Main Street inProvidence, Rhode Island , from 1926 through 1972. The name came from the rooster known as theRhode Island Red .When the
North American Hockey League folded in the 1977, theBroome Dusters acquired the Reds franchise, relocating them toBinghamton, New York , where it was known as theBinghamton Dusters ,Binghamton Whalers , andBinghamton Rangers . In 1997 the franchise was sold toMadison Square Garden and then moved to become theHartford Wolf Pack .Past coaches
