Cassadaga (a Seneca Indian word meaning "Water beneath the rocks") is a small
unincorporated community located just north of Orlando, Florida. It is especially known for having a large number of psychics, also known as "Mediums", and as such is sometimes referred to as being the "Psychic Center of the World".Fact|date=August 2007History
Cassadaga got its start when the
Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association was founded byGeorge P. Colby , a medium fromPike, New York , who attended summer "Camp meeting s" atLily Dale, New York (adjacent toCassadaga, New York ), subsequently moving to Florida. The Southern Cassadaga Association received itscharter on18 December 1894 .Popular culture
