Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Synod

The Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Synod is a synod, or diocese, of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The synod consists of all ELCA congregations in Washington, D.C. and surrounding counties and cities: Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington, and Prince William counties and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, and Falls Church in Virginia; and Montgomery, Prince George's, Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary's counties in Maryland. The synod is headed by a bishop, currently Richard H. Graham.

The synod is composed of 75 congregations with almost 40,000 baptized members.

The Metropolitan Washington. D.C. Synod supports 2 Outdoor Ministry Sites (Caroline Furnace and Mar-Lu-Ridge Summer Camp and Education and Conference Center)
