Petar Bergamo (born
February 27 ,1930 inSplit ) graduated from theBelgrade Music Academy (1960), where hestudied composition withStanojlo Rajičić and conducting withŽivojin Zdravković . He also completed hispost-graduate studies of composition at the same Academy (1964) and was anassistant andlecturer in composition andinstrumentation from 1965 to 1972.From 1973 to 1976 he was a music editor at Universal Edition inVienna .Bergamowrote two symphonies, works for chorus,
children ’ssong s,film scores, andincidental music forradio . His early music is in a late-Romanticstyle , while hislater works show increasing tendencies towardatonality and freedom fromtraditional form s.Bergamo’s works forwind s include: "Concerto Abbreviato forclarinet solo", "I colori d’argento for flute","harpsichord and chamber ensemble" (1967), "Concerto per una voce forbassoon "(1975), "Saxophone Concerto" (1991-1993), and "Domande senza ripostà forsaxophone andpiano " (1996).=References=
