"Argyrosomus regius" (also known as Meagre, Shade-fish, Salmon-Basse or Stone Basse) is a fish of the Sciaenidae family. It has a similar form to a bass, with a pearly-silver coloration and a salmon-coloured mouth. Length can go from 40–50 cm up to 2 m long, with weights of 10–40 kilograms.

"A. regius" is a solitary carnivore who lives in the pelagic of coast areas, with a depth range of 15–300 m. Habitats include the Atlantic Ocean and, with a rarer distribution, the Mediterranean Sea.
