Isabella of Antioch, Isabella of Lusignan or Isabelle de Lusignan (before March, 1216 or after 1216 – 1264), Princess of Cyprus was wife of Henry of Antioch and
Regent of theKingdom of Jerusalem .She was the daughter of
Alice of Champagne andHugh I of Cyprus , and the sister-in-law ofPlaisance of Antioch , queen of Cyprus who married her brother.She married in 1223
Henry of Antioch , brother ofBohemund V of Antioch and of Plaisance, with whom she had Hugh I of Jerusalem (Hugh III of Cyprus). Henry, also known as Henry de Poitiers,drowned atsea on June 18, 27 or 28, 1276. He was the son ofBohemund IV of Antioch and his first wife Plaisance Embriaco de Giblet.Their descendants took the surname De Lusignan. They had two children:
* Hughues III & I le Grand de Lusignan, King of Cyprus and King of Jerusalem
* Margaret of Cyprus and Margaret of Jerusalem, also Margaret of Antioch and Margaret of Lusignan or Marguerite de Lusignan, formerly Margaret of Poitiers or Marguerite de Poitiers (1244 –Cyprus ,January 30 ,1308 ), Lady of Tyre (1283-1290/1291), later Titular, and Titular Princess of Antioch, she died as aNun and was buried at the Dominician Church, atNicosia , married on or afterSeptember 22 ,1268 Jean I de Montfort, Conte diSquillace ,Lord of Toron and Lord of Tyre (ca 1240 –November 27 ,1289 at Tyre), son ofPhilip of Montfort, Lord of Tyre and second wife Maria, Princess of Antioch, without issuePlaisance ruled as Regent of Jerusalem for her son
Hugh II of Cyprus until her death in 1261; Isabella took her place and ruled as regent from 1263 until 1264 when her own son was around 29 years old and took his mother's position by the decision ofHaute Cour of Jerusalem , superseding his cousin of Brienne, who was son of his mother's elder sister.
