diagnosis =Brucellosis Sex Kills is the fourteenth episode of the second season of "House", which premiered on the FOX network on
March 7 ,2006 . The title alludes to aJoni Mitchell song of the same title which first appeared on the album "Turbulent Indigo " released in 1994.This episode also features Hugh Laurie's
Band From TV band-mate Greg Grunberg as a guest star.Plot
While playing bridge with his daughter, a man named Henry has a seizure without realizing it (an absent seizure). Initially, it is assumed that he has testicular cancer, but Dr. House's team discovers an infection in his brain. The team assumes that the infection may be caused by a sexually transmitted infection, but Henry denies Dr. Foreman's questions about an active sex life because of his daughter's presence.
When Dr. House confronts Henry, he admits that he has been sleeping with his divorced wife, who is estranged from his daughter. As he attempts to explain his condition to his daughter, he begins to cough up blood, which cannot be attributed to a sexually transmitted infection. House determines that the antacids Henry's been taking regularly for his heartburn have depleted the stomach acid needed to kill off the bacteria on cheese served at the function where Henry met up with his ex-wife.
Dr. House and Dr. Wilson play
table football , as House continues to suspect Wilson of having an affair. Meanwhile, Henry enters cardiac arrest, as House predicted would happen if the infection was too advanced. It is discovered that he needs a heart transplant. The hospital's transplant board denies a transplant due to his age and the scarcity of transplant hearts available.Because there are no hearts immediately available, House tries to get one from a dead woman, whose organs were rejected, by manipulating her husband. Dr. House and his team have to cure the dead woman's heart before giving it to Henry while she is still on life support.
House also treats a clinic patient who asks for
depo-provera to kill his sex drive, originally giving the reason as being azoophilia c, specifically for cows. House determines that he is lying about his zoophilia, and he eventually admits to being attracted to his attractive stepmother, at which point House writes him the prescription. While House attempts to find a cure for the woman's heart, Henry starts to lose use of his current heart and falls into a coma. House and his team determine that the woman has
gonorrhea . The heart transplant takes place, and House's team treats Henry for the gonorrhea instead of curing the dead woman's heart first. The episode ends with Wilson moving in with House because his wife has been having an affair.
oundtrack
