Wootton is a village and also a civil parish in the English county of Oxfordshire. It is located three miles north of Abingdon, and five miles south of Oxford. Wootton was formerly in the county of Berkshire - until the Local Government Act 1972. Wootton borders a number of smaller villages and hamlets - namely: Dry Sandford, Cothill, Henwood, Lamborough Hill, and Boars Hill.
The village includes Wootton St. Peter's Church of England Primary School.
The village is the site of the newly refurbished Wootton Business Park, and two new housing estates. There are a few shops in Wootton, including two convenience stores, a pharmacy, a chip shop, and post office. There is also a dentist, minor doctors surgery (uncommon in a village of this size), a hairdressers, a sign-a-rama, and a small book store. Wootton is a popular and friendly villageFact|date=April 2008, with social places like the Bystander public house, a Royal British Legion club, and a community centre where various activities take place, such as local school fetes and a local bingo.
