First ascent=Ruby Mountain is a small
stratovolcano inStikine Region, British Columbia ,Canada , located 23 km northeast of Atlin and 6 km south ofMount Barham . A recent collapse on thevolcano es eastern side created a largelandslide and dissecting this side of Ruby Mountain. The volcano is the largest feature within theAtlin Volcanic Field .November 8 1898 eruption
Reports of eruptions in the Ruby Mountain area about 80 km south of
Gladys Lake , near the end of the 19th century.Miner s working in the area were able to work during the dark nights, due to the glow of the eruption. There have been no evidence of the eruption found in the region, however, the volcanic activity in the region is young enough to have been the site of an historical eruption, although the 19th century report of the eruption is not yet known.ee also
