Nasrollah Nasehpoor

Nasrollah Nasehpoor (PerB|نصرالله ناصح پور), born in 1940 in Ardabil, is a renowned Iranian vocalist and professor for classical Persian vocal music. Through his father, the famed garmon player Agha Shakour, he had already been influenced by Azerbaijani music during his childhood.

After moving from his hometown of Ardabil to Tehran he had the benefit to be the student of famous musicians as the tar player Ostad Ali Akbar Khan Shahnazi, the vocalist Soleyman Amir Ghasemi and the setar player Ostad Sa'id Hormozi.

The great classical Persian vocalist Ostad Abdollah Davami had a deep impact on Nasrollah Nasehpoor's musical development who has been a recognized vocalist, music researcher and teacher for about 50 years.

In 1996 he founded the "Nassehpoor Ensemble" with his sons Peyman, Pooyan and Parham. In the same year, he performed on an Europe tour together with the Sheyda Ensemble in Cologne, Zurich, London, Paris, Florence, and Venice.
