Pooyan Nassehpoor

Pooyan Nassehpoor (PerB|پويان ناصح پور), born in 1975 in Tehran, Iran, is a santur player. His family with a long and rich music tradition initiated him at an early age into classical Persian and Azerbaijani music.

The vocalist and professor for classical Persian vocal music Nasrollah Nasehpoor is his father and the renowned garmon player Agha Shakour was his grandfather. Together with his father and his brothers Peyman and Parham he forms since 1996 the "Nassehpoor Ensemble".

In 1983 he began studying santoor with Ostad Majid Kiani and continued with Dr. Soheil Sadi-Nezhad. He has specialized on researching the classical Persian music of the Qajar Dynasty. Currently he lives in Germany.
