*There were three additional BBC television productions of "Pride and Prejudice" made in 1938, 1958, and 1967.
*1952: Feb 2 to March 8. The BBC broadcast a five-episode mini-series live, starring Ann Baskett and Peter Cushing.

Pop culture References

In Episode 39 of "Futurama", Fry follows the leader of the brainspawn into several books, including "Pride and Prejudice", where Fry is in attendance at a ball where the brain is introduced as the most eligible bachelor.

Season 1 episode 24 of the children's television series "Wishbone" is based on "Pride and Prejudice". In this episode, entitled "Furst Impressions", Wishbone plays the role of Mr. Darcy.

In the sci-fi britcom "Red Dwarf," Kochanski, Lister, and the Cat play a virtual reality game in which they encounter Mrs. Bennett and her five daughters.
