- Johannes Abezier
Johannes Abezier (ca. 1380 – after 1424) was a provost and Roman Catholic
bishop of theTeutonic Knights in Frauenburg (Frombork) and Ermland (Warmia).Abezier was born in Thorn (Toruń) in the
monastic state of the Teutonic Knights . He acquired his baccalaureate inPrague in 1393, and his magister in 1401. Later he acted as "Doctor Decretorum" and "Auditor Rotae". In 1411, he became provost in the cathedral of Frauenburg. He participated in a mission toBuda where King Sigismund was trying to settle the disputes between the order andPoland .In 1414 Abezier accompanied the archbishop of
Riga ,Johann von Wallenrodt , to theCouncil of Kostnitz . In the same year he was awarded the bishop's see of Ermland. On13 October 1415 , he participated once more in a mission to settle conflicts between the order and Poland, this time inWileny .Abezier remained bishop of Ermland until 1424.
