Iowa Highway 39 is a north-south route in Crawford and Sac counties in the west-central portion of the state. It, along with U.S. Route 30 and U.S. Route 71, helps to connect the Iowa Great Lakes region of northwestern Iowa with the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area.

Termini

Iowa Highway 39's southern terminus is at its junction with U.S. Route 59 and Iowa Highway 141 on the western edge of Denison. This terminus is just north of 59 and 141's intersection with U.S. 30. The highway's northern terminus is at its junction with Iowa Highway 175 on the eastern side of Odebolt, five miles from 175's western junction with U.S. 71.2003 Transportation Map, Iowa Department of Transportation.]

Route description

Iowa Highway 39 begins on the west side of Denison at U.S. 59 and Iowa 141. It goes northeast to Deloit, then turns north to go through Kiron. After leaving Kiron, the highway turns east on the Crawford County/Sac County border. It then turns north and ends in Odebolt at Iowa 175.

History
