continental shelf on or near the bottom, and also close inshore near rocks and river mouths. It occurs on beds ofalga e on reefs orseagrass , and also hides in rocky caves and ledges during the day. The mouth is in front of the eyes.Coloration is grey-brown with an indistinct dark collar around the
gill s. There are six or seven dusky saddles, and dark spots on the body tail and fins. Reproduction isoviparous .References
