Anne Midgette is the chief classical music critic for the
Washington Post. She was a classical music reviewer for "The New York Times " from 2001 to 2007. After graduating fromYale University , she lived for 11 years inMunich ,Germany , reviewingopera , music and art throughout Europe for "The Wall Street Journal ,"Opera News , and other publications. Anne Midgette returned to New York and, after several other writing stints, became the first woman to review classical music for "The New York Times" on a regular basis in 2001. Together withHerbert Breslin , she wrote "The King and I", about Breslin’s 36 years managing thetenor Luciano Pavarotti . She is married to the composer and music journalistGreg Sandow . They live inManhattan andWarwick ,New York .Her father was the painterWillard Midgette .In January 2008, she began reviewing for the "
Washington Post " and replacedTim Page as the chief music critic in June 2008.External links
