Coordinates: 56°02′N 10°11′E / 56.033°N 10.183°E Malling is a village in Denmark, located about 12 km (7.5 mi) south of Aarhus. It has a population of 3,538 (1 January 2011)[1].

Geography
Malling is situated only 5 kilometers (3.1 mi) from the ocean, and a lot of the surroundings are hills, swatches of farmland interspersed with forests and meadows. The railway travels through malling and has been one of the key elements in the continuous growth. The park in front of "Super Brugsen" is the general place for people to enjoy themselves, Malling has several parks, all used for various purposes. The major tourist attraction in Malling is the old church, where the old castle walls, which date back to 1100 AD can still be seen.
Education
Malling school is the only school within Malling, although lots of other schools within the post code are used today. Malling school with its 600 pupils remains the central school of education for all students in the Malling Region. Other educational institutions are Ajstrup Skole and Beder Malling landbrugsskole.
Politics
Malling lies under the jurisdiction of Aarhus and is therefore under direct political govern from Aarhus City Hall. The city council consists of 31 members elected for 4-year terms. Anyone eligible to vote and residing in Aarhus municipality can run for a seat on the city council.
Industry and business
The region is a major producer of agricultural products with many large farms in the outlying districts. Cattle, pork and grain are the main products with a sizeable related refinement industry present.
