Risskov

Risskov is one of the most affluent areas in Denmark, and a district to the city of Aarhus. The name literally means The Forest of Riis, as described on the memorial stone placed on the corner of Grenåvej and Vestre Skovvej at the entry to the small forest situated north of Aarhus.

Public Transportation

Among the local population, public transportation is primarily via buses, and secondarily by way of trains. For bus transport, bus number 6 and bus number 16 are the primary bus lines. Number 6 travels from the center of Århus through Risskov Forest and along the coastline on Nordre Strandvej to Åkrogen, number 16 follows a route slightly more inland, passing by Runddelen and Risskov Skole before crossing the train tracks on Vestre Strandallé and joining up with route 6 on Nordre Standvej, close to Bellevue beach.

The more peripheral buses number 53, 56, 58, and 119 run on Grenåvej, along the edge of Risskov, and primarily service the population of Egå and Lystrup, two lesser suburbs in the vicinity.
