Leivonmäki was a municipality of
Finland until it became a part ofJoutsa in2008 . It is known for its marshy grounds and itsnational park . First inhabitants are mentioned in1564 . It has been a municipality since1870 .It is located 40 km south-east from
Jyväskylä in the province ofWestern Finland and is part of theCentral Finland region. The municipality has a population of 1,162 (2003 ) and covers an area of 409.97 km² of which 29.17 km² is water. Thepopulation density is 2.8 inhabitants per km².The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
