History
In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1113.
Geography
The village lies at an altitude of 141 metres and covers an area of 46.39 km². It has a population of about 5315 people.(1.1.2009)
Ethnicity
The village is about 97% Slovak and the other 3% is, mainly, Gypsy
Facilities
The village has a pharmacy, a public library a gym and a football pitch. It also has a DVD rental store and cinema.
