Midlands Christian College (MCC) is a co-educational high school of about 450 pupils ranging from form 1 to form 6, located in the city of Gweru, Zimbabwe. The college has boarding facilities as well as providing for day-scholars. Its name refers to its location in the Midlands Province in central Zimbabwe. MCC is an evangelical Christian school which teaches Creationism and actively encourages conversion to Christianity on the part of its pupils.
Academic Subjects Offered in Form 1
Core Subjects : 12 core subjects are offered. English Language & Literature, Accounts, Mathematics, Religious & Moral Education, Science, Geography, History, Shona, Music, Physical Education and International Computer Driving Licence, Education for Living. Option Subjects : Pupils also choose one examinable ‘option’ subject: Art, Agriculture, Design & Technology, or Fashion & Fabrics.
O’ Level Subjects Offered in Form 3 and 4
Core Subjects : History, Biology, Core and Extended Mathematics, English with/without Literature, Geography, Religious Studies, Accounts, Physical Science, Shona, Commerce, French, Education for Living and International Computer Driving Licence
Option Subjects: Pupils continue with their chosen technical option from F1.

The Academic Council
Mr. Percy K. Sachinda Mrs. Dorothy Haukozi Mr. Tendai Masaya Mrs. Farisai Sango Mr. Cosmas Chigwanda Chaired by Vice Principal Percy Sachinda, this council is responsible for drawing up a broad and balanced curriculum and teaching timetable Collectively this committee has eighty three years worth of experience and subject specialists from the Science Department, Languages Department and Humanities Department. Course are offered under the following examination boards -
• Cambridge IGCSE AS Level A Level
• City and Guilds
• International Computer Driving Licence
This council evaluates standards and teaching through rigorous result analysis and performance appraisals. Teaching and learning is monitored by ensuring that teachers - set suitable learning challenges - respond to pupils’ diverse learning needs - overcome potential barriers to learning for individuals or groups of learners. Frequent assessment of pupil progress is made through the system or goal setting and analysis, assessment tests and examinations. Feedback is give to parents and guardians in writing at least twice a term. Particular dates for Consultation Days appear on the school calendar. This time is for teachers to inform parents about the children’s progress, and parents are free to express their concerns about the child’s progress if necessary. Believing that communication is important, our ‘open door’ policy ensures that parents and guardians can approach the Academic Council at any time with concerns or queries. The Council will also seek to engage parents and guardians when necessary.

Having taught Geography in particular for twenty five years, Farisai Sango is well versed with expected academic standards. An educator at heart, she works on the Academic Committee to ensure that academic standards are met and maintained. Where students are having difficulties with their studies she, as with the rest of the committee, are involved in mentoring these students and workable plans are formulated to encourage them to better themselves and to progress.

Passionate about general Science and Inorganic - Organic Chemistry in particular, Cosmas Chigwanda has over fifteen years of experience. Specifically tasked with Examinations, he coordinates the preparation and administration of all examinations. He is also involved in the formulation of strategies that will see continued improvements on the academic front.
Mr. Andrew Deysel - Hostel AdministratorFairly new at Midlands Christian College, Andrew Deysel has a passion and a vision for working with young people. Tasked with ensuring the smooth running of hostels both on and off campus, Andrew Deysel ensures the smooth running of the associated systems and facilities. He also sees to the academic, medical, physical and spiritual needs of the boys under his care. With many years of experience working with teenagers and young adults on various camps, he has a vision for making a difference in the lives of the students who pass through the Midlands Christian College boarding hostels. Through evening devotions, Hostel Church and a system of monitoring and counselling, students lives are positively impacted.
MCC's campus provides both primary school education and a small Teacher Training Complex.
