50th Street (Manhattan)

50th Street in the New York City borough of Manhattan. The street runs eastbound from 12th Avenue, across the full width of the island, ending at Beekman Place and carries the M50 bus line.

The street is noted for the location of Radio City Music Hall, Worldwide Plaza, Rockefeller Plaza and the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. A building at Broadway was used in "Silent Movie" as the location of the "Engulf and Devour" company. The IND Eighth Avenue Line, IND Sixth Avenue Line and IRT Lexington Avenue Line have subway stations at 50th. A telephone exchange building at 435 West 50th serves the northwestern quadrant of Midtown Manhattan

This street is notable for being blocked off in the mornings for the broadcast of NBC's "The Today Show".
