Mexican Motor Mafia is an indie game by J. M. Loehrlein[1] and Michael Geiger[2] in the style of Grand Theft Auto where the player has to drive cars and shoot different weapons. It's also very similar to the old Autoduel game with skills you can upgrade, and a large explorable world. It also includes elements of Sid Meier's Pirates!, namely trading and defeating named bandits.

The game is released as shareware, where only the 2 first episodes are playable without purchasing the game.

Description

The game is described by the author on the games' page as follows.

Mexican Motor Mafia is a fun spirited western where you get to blow the ever lovin' crap out of just about everything. It's not a traditional western in that the character's drive around in muscle cars rather than ride horses. But this is cool cause cars explode.

Last night an escaped deathrow inmate known as "Priest" killed your brother, abducted your brother's kids, stole your car, and ran away to Mexico. You're gonna kill him and his gang "The Red Texas Four". You're also gonna save your brother's kids, and find your car. Man that was a sweet car.

Characters

The games' protagonist wears a shirt with cobra on it and smokes. He is going after the gang The Red Texas Four, whose leader, Priest, has killed his brother Santos. He is named only when in boss fights with the members of The Red Texas Four. In the first battle he is simply Unknown, but after defeating La Toro, a new section of the map opens up. This allows him to go south, where he eventually gets into a battle with another member, Tito, in which he is called Snake. After this, the eastern section of the map opens up, where he finds Whistler. When the battle begins, he is named Cobra. after some battles and Priest challenged by Priest, he is named Mexican Motor Mafia.

Distribution

The game was published as a download only with one exception. In germany, the title was renamed to '47 Dead Men' and published fully translated as a retail version on cd-rom.
