It was created three times for George Keith Elphinstone, a younger son of
Charles Elphinstone, 10th Lord Elphinstone . He was created Baron Keith in thePeerage of Ireland in 1797, and Baron Keith in thePeerage of the United Kingdom on15 December 1801 . He was created Baron Keith in the Peerage of the United Kingdom a second time on17 September 1803 , with a special remainder to allow his daughter to succeed, as he had no sons. Finally, he was created Viscount Keith in the Peerage of the United Kingdom.He died on
