Ebenat (also spelled Ibnat) is one of the 105
woreda s in theAmhara Region ofEthiopia . It is named after the former district that lay roughly in the same area; the woreda itself dates from the mid 1960s. The administrative center of Ebenat isEbenat .Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 223,650, of whom 109,946 were males and 113,704 were females; 16,740 or 7.48% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 8.3%. With an estimated area of 2,268.44 square kilometers, Ebenat has an estimated population density of 98.6 people per square kilometer, which is less than the Zone average of 169.21.
