In an interview, Thomas Ligotti made the comment that “Jason’s work reminded me how technically accomplished he is as an artist, aside from the fact that he has a singular and distinguished imagination. That my own work has gained the esteem of someone as gifted as him is for me the only true confirmation that I haven’t completely wasted my time as a horror writer.”fact|date=March 2008
