Imelda Mary Read, known as Mel Read is a British politician, and former Labour Party member of the European Parliament for the East Midlands.[1][2]
She became an MEP in 1994, representing the Nottingham and Leicestershire North West constituency until 1999.
She stood down at the 2004 European election at which time she was elected as President of the European Cervical Cancer Association.[3]
