Mariner High School is located in Cape Coral, Florida in the Lee County School District and is home to the Mariner Fightin' Tritons. The school is located at 701 Chiquita Blvd. N. in Northern Cape Coral, Florida. The school's students come mainly from Cape Coral, the neighboring villages on Pine Island, and North Fort Myers. The school opened for the 1987-1988 school year at its current location.
Contents
Math, Science, and Technology
Mariner High School started a special math, science, and technology,(or MST) section of the school at the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year. The program allows gifted students to join a rigorous academic program, and provide academic improvement opportunities.
Rivals
Cape Coral High School - The Seahawks are Mariner's main rival because they are cross-town/west region rival.
North Fort Myers High School - The Knights were the second school in Mariner's region, and the closest rival of Mariner's Marching Band.
Fort Myers Senior High School - The Waves are the county's oldest high school and the school Mariner most closely competes with academically.
Ida S. Baker High School - The BullDogs are Cape Coral's second newest high school and a developing west region rival.
Island Coast High School - The Gators are Cape Coral's newest high school and a developing west region rival.
Silver Magic Marching Band
The marching band won 4th place at the Bands of America (BOA) regional competition in 2004. Mariner's Silver Magic Marching Band has also won class AAA State Champion 3 out of the last 4 years. The Silver Magic Drumline has won a world championship, drumoffs, and other awards. The marching band has performed many great shows such as Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel and Identity by John M. Meehan.

Notable alumni
Alvin Ashley #3 - Played in the Arena Football League and broke several AFL and collegiate receiving records. He most notably holds the record for most receiving touchdowns (59), formerly held by Jerry Rice.
Earnest Graham #5 - Went to the University of Florida on a football scholarship and is now playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His jersey is retired.
Teddy Dupay #24 - Went to the University of Florida on a basketball scholarship. In 1998 he set the state high school career basketball scoring record that he still holds today. His jersey is retired. Additionally, he played on Florida's runner-up team in the 2000 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament.
Greg Spires - Went to Florida State University on a football scholarship and played in the NFL, most notably with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Spires has also played for the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots.
Casey Coleman - Went to Florida Gulf Coast University on a baseball scholarship and is now currently playing with the Chicago Cubs.
Pat Burke #31 - Went to Auburn University on a basketball scholarship. Played in the NBA and Europe. Played with the Orlando Magic and the Phoenix Suns. Won a European Championship in 2000 with Panathinaikos Athens. Won 3 Greek league titles, 1 Spanish league title, and 1 Polish league title. His jersey is retired.
Sam Sebastian - Went to Nova South Eastern University and Indian River State College on a baseball scholarships. He owns the single season record in stolen bases with 42 set in 1997. He also set the single season record for most receptions with 33 in 1997 playing wide receiver for the Tritons.
