Cape Coral, Florida . It is one of four high schools in the city of Cape Coral and is also a part of the Lee County School District. Total enrollment is estimated at about 1,200 students. It is the newest high school in Cape Coral. The school has been finished for almost half a year now, it is the tallest school in Lee County. School hours are from 7:15 AM to 1:45 PM. There are seven classes. The school is located in the West Zone (sub-zone 1) of Lee County, in the Gator Circle area near the border ofCape Coral &North Fort Myers .ports
In the 2007-2008 school year, the freshmen football team had a 7-1 season losing only to South Fort Myers High School.
The first home game at Island Coast High School was on September 12th, 2008. Island Coast lost 31-0 against Evangelical Christian School from
Fort Myers .Construction
Actual construction began in mid-April, 2007. The school was completed inmid-June, 2008. Total costs were at about $63-million. It is 272,000 square feet, with a 50 acre campus. There are 3 floors but the school was designed to allow an additional two floors to be built on top. The school has a capacity of about 2,000 students.An aerial photo of the school being built.
