Laurelwood, Oregon

Laurelwood is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Oregon, United States. It is located southwest of the Portland metropolitan area near Oregon Route 47 and the city of Gaston. It has a population of about 200 people. Fact|date=February 2007

Twenty years ago Laurelwood hosted Laurelwood Seventh-day Adventist Academy where an average of 300 students attended per year. Laurelwood Seventh-Day Adventist Elementary School still exists, and now has enrollment of about 20, in grades 1-8.

Today the Academy buildings house Mission College of Evangelism run by Carol & Louis Torres.

Laurelwood is a farming community, with a population partially composed of retirees and former students and teachers of Laurelwood Academy.

In the 1990s, a plan for a housing development was proposed in the Laurelwood valley. Neighbors in the community defeated the proposal. Laurelwood is still mostly composed of homes situated on one to ten acres.
