Seddon is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Seddon, on the Werribee and Williamstown railway lines. Seddon is unmanned and is in Metcard Zone 1.

Facilities

Seddon is located between Bellairs Avenue and Hobbs Street, with station access from both via a footbridge linking both sides.

The station consists of two side platforms: Platform 1 (Flinders Street bound) has a large brick building, while platform 2 (Werribee and Williamstown bound) has a smaller brick building. A large Metcard ticket machine is located at the entrance to platform 1, able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A small coin-only Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 2.

History

Seddon station opened on December 10 1906 as a Double Line Block post with a signal box for the control of trains in the section from Footscray to Yarraville stations.
