"Simply Irresistible" is a song by Robert Palmer. It is the first track on his album "Heavy Nova". In 1988, it was #1 on "Billboard" magazine's Mainstream Rock Tracks for three weeks in the USA and also reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.In 1989,Robert Palmer won a second Grammy for "Simply Irresistible", which was later featured in the Tony Award-winning musical "Contact".
Along with "Addicted to Love" and "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On", "Simply Irresistible" is among Palmer's most recognized songs, partly because of the mannequin-like women surrounding Palmer in the corresponding music videos.
The song is well known by boxing fans as the entrance music for heavyweight Ross "Simply Irresistible" Kent.
Simply Irresistible was featured in the soundtrack to American Psycho when Patrick Bateman comments during a cab ride: "I'm trying to listen to the new Robert Palmer tape, but Evelyn, my supposed fiance, keeps buzzing in my ear." The song is playing in the background for the duration of this cab scene.
