John Wall

John Wall

John Wall (1620–1679) was a Catholic martyr and saint.

He was born in Preston, Lancashire, entered the English College, Douai (in modern-day northern France) in 1641, and was ordained a priest in 1645. He remained Master of the Novices until 1656, when he moved to back to England in Worcestershire. Here he became a Governor (Six Master) of the Royal Grammar School Worcester. In 1678, he was apprehended and sent to the Worcester jail. His trial was on April 25. After being sent to London he was brought back to Worcester and executed for being a Catholic priest and exercising as such.
