The Jayaprakash Narayan Nagar ( JP Nagar ) was created during period of
Ramakrishna Hegde as chief minister ofKarnataka . In the beginning, this locality was basically a residential area. The area was dotted withbungalow s and independent houses. The Information Technology boom in Bangalore in late 1990s and early 2000 converted it into a semi commercial area. It also led to rise of Apartment residential system.Being a low lying area, this area is badly prone to floods. It was the worst affected area during the unseasonal rains in
