Sainik School Bijapur

Sainik School Bijapur is one of the 18 Sainik Schools of India. Established by the Government of India in 1963, the main aim of the school is to prepare boys to join the armed forces. Currently, the school has contributed about 500 officers.

Sainik School Bijapur is located in the district Bijapur, Karnataka, India. The camps spreads across 400+ acres of land, with all the facilities for the students. Every year nearly 100 students join the school in the sixth class, after clearing the selection procedure, which includes weitten test, interview and a medical examination.

Main Building

The main building houses the administrative office and the office of the Principal, Head master and Registrar of the school. It also has the classrooms for all the students from class sixth to XII and the labs (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Languages and IT), an audio-visual room and a library.

Hostel blocks

There are 6 hostels for the students which accommodate all the 600+ students studying in the school. The hostels have study, recreation, TV, table tennis rooms and a barber. Each house has House masters and Supertendents to look after everyone.

Cadets Mess

The campus has a central mess which caters the members in one sitting. Both vegetarian and non-vegeterian food is available. The menu makes sure students maintain a balanced diet.

ports and Games

Everday there is physical training at 5:30 am in the morning, which is under the guidence of trained Army instructors. Students can play the games of their choice in the evening at 4:30 pm, able to choose from football, basketball, hockey, volley ball. There is also a gym facility, swimming pool, horse stable and snooker table.
